3 easy aloo recipes for beginners

Aloo Jeera - Food

Aloo is one of the commonest ingredients in our recipes. You can make many simple recipes with aloo. Three such  Aloo recipes are given below;

Aloo gobi recipe

  • Ingredients:
  • 2 potatoes 
  • 2 tomatoes 
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 cauliflower 
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Amchur
  • 1/4 teaspoon red Chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 3-4 teaspoons oil
  • 1 onion 
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • Steps:
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add cauliflowers and fry for 3 minutes.
  • Now add the sliced potatoes.
  • Fry both for 8 minutes on medium flame till they become golden-brown.
  • Remove them from flame and keep aside.
  • In the same pan, heat 1 teaspoon of oil and add cumin seeds.
  • Next, add onions and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Now, add the ginger-garlic paste and fry for 3 more minutes.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and cook till they become soft.
  • Now, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and amchur. Cook for 3 minutes.
  • Now add the cauliflower and potatoes. Mix well.
  • Add garam masala and cook for another 7 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.

Aloo Matar recipe

  • Ingredients
  • 2  potatoes
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 3  tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1.5 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
  • Steps:
  • Fry cumin seeds in a pan.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add grated tomatoes and salt. Stir the mixture and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Now, add garam masala, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and red chilli powder.
  • Add some water and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Now add boiled potatoes and green peas.
  • Cook for 4 minutes and add cilantro pieces.
  • Serve it hot.

Aloo Palak

  • Ingredients:
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 3 dried red Chilies
  • 1  onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon red Chilli powder
  • 2  potatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 5-6 garlic cloves
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 8-10 oz spinach
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
  • Pinch of Hing
  • Half lemon juice of
  • Steps:
  • Fry cumin seeds. Add garlic, Hing, chillies to it.
  • Add the chopped onion and chopped potatoes. 
  • Now, add coriander, turmeric powder, salt, and red chilli powder.
  • Mix well. Now, add the spinach turn by turn and cook for 4 minutes.
  • Next, add garam masala and lemon juice.
  • Serve it hot.
